We must struggle to carry the burden,
Of our heavy and saddened hearts,
As we pick up the shattered pieces,
Of our scattered and broken lives.

In an instant our world turned over,
One moment, lasting an eternity,
All things that once were so treasured,
Have been taken so suddenly.

But even as we mourn our losses,
We celebrate with a quiet joy,
Though great are the tragedies we’ve suffered,
We’ve come through it all with our lives.

So as we gather the pieces around us,
Saving the remnants from our precious past,
We look forward to the future before us,
And await the Light shining at the end.
