I yearn to sail away to the farthest shore,
And leave my life behind for ever more, To flee from my troubles and run away, To begin a new life and a brand new day. Id sail upon a ship thats tall and fare, Its bow would be high, and its decks bare, Alone I would stand as I journeyed far, And at night I would wish upon a star. Riding upon the winds of Gods gentle breath, Id be infused with life, feeling immune to death, Inhaling the elixir of the oceans breeze, Rocked and caressed by the living seas. Then one day would appear from high above, A harbinger of hope, a sweet little dove, And off in the distance Id finally see, The land of my dreams, beckoning to me. With valleys so green and mountains so high, Warmed by the sun from a newborn sky, Id rejoice as I stepped upon the farthest shore, And on my life of old I would close the door. |
